Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

PROFINET integration for new board design - PCB to PLC communication
And there's even existing open-source implementations which you can use, like this one for example: https://github.com/rtlabs-com/p-net
- Looking for lightweight network protocol for low latency communication for embedded system
-
GSD file of a custom IO PROFINET device
1-What do I need to change in the GSD file to do what I want, I can't find any documentation on the GSD syntax ? (gsd file: https://github.com/rtlabs-com/p-net/blob/master/sample_app/GSDML-V2.4-RT-Labs-P-Net-Sample-App-20210415.xml)

IT Pro Tuesday #220 - Open-Source CI Engine, Git Recovery, SSD Testing & More
SnmpCollector is a full-featured, open-source generic SNMP data collector with a web administration interface. Simplifies the configuration needed to get data from devices with snmp support to an influxdb backend. hombre_sabio adds, "It aims to simplify the alignment for collecting data from various sources [to] send the data to the InfluxDB backend."

Looking for lightweight network protocol for low latency communication for embedded system
SNMP is great when implemented by others and you just ask your poller to fetch what you need every 30s to 5 minutes. You can go faster with SNMP but, you're stretching it. The fastest Poller i worked with is this one: https://github.com/toni-moreno/snmpcollector

Observium alternatives due to polling intervals
At least a demo can be done with snmpcollector + influxdb (+ Grafana?). I think it allows faster polling, however if I recall, the polling interval is always configured in the measurement template itself.

Replacing cacti with Grafana, scaling question
One solution I tested. However I have no clue how it compares performance-wise.
What are some alternatives?
c-open - CANopen stack for embedded devices
OpenMetrics - Evolving the Prometheus exposition format into a standard.
comms_champion - C++(11) library to implement and tools to monitor binary communication protocols
icinga2 - The core of our monitoring platform with a powerful configuration language and REST API.
SOEM - Simple Open Source EtherCAT Master
influxdb - Scalable datastore for metrics, events, and real-time analytics [Moved to: https://github.com/influxdata/influxdb]
open62541 - Open source implementation of OPC UA (OPC Unified Architecture) aka IEC 62541 licensed under Mozilla Public License v2.0
InfluxDB - Scalable datastore for metrics, events, and real-time analytics
skydive - An open source real-time network topology and protocols analyzer
gRPC - The C based gRPC (C++, Python, Ruby, Objective-C, PHP, C#)
mtail - extract internal monitoring data from application logs for collection in a timeseries database
