Adguard Home on a Public server
Just start from https://www.oracle.com/cloud/free/, you need a card that will be charged twice but returned either immediately or in a day or so, the charge is about 1-20 USD, which might be different since I registered back in 2019. Once your account is approved, you can use the guide in https://github.com/neneeen/own-vpn-for-everyone/blob/main/guides/OracleEnglish.md on how to create, connect to a Ubuntu VM and open the ports (the guide explains on how to open TCP 443, for AdGuard Home you'll need the ports listed on https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardHome/blob/master/scripts/make/Dockerfile If you stumble on how to configure them feel free to reply to this comment and I might write a guide for that particular scenario.

Ask HN: Which tools are the best for internet safety for kids?
I've tried hosted Pi-Hole and AdGuard Home. They are good as long as I'm around to fix stuffs. Then I tested something which can be global (home) and also for individual devices -- Control-D, NextDNS, and Adguard DNS. All of them works pretty well. If I really have to choose, then it would be in the order of NextDNS > Control-D > AdGuard DNS. Affiliated with none, and have decided to subscribe to all three to further test them for this year.
