NanoPI R2S WAN performance
Now here's the kicker. Looks like vanilla openwrt only clocks the chip to ~1Ghz or thereabouts. I've installed this modified fork https://github.com/quintus-lab/openwrt-rockchip
- Nano Pi R4S doesn't boot after flashing image

Nanopi R4S current status
Use this build instead: https://github.com/quintus-lab/openwrt-rockchip

-
NanoPi R2S SQM performance?
Anyways, please, don't stick with the official openwrt build, nor the friendlywrt proprietary build. Use this firmware instead which has specific performance adjustments and patches.

Returning from Android to Linux
I've tried clearing the SPIFlash, which I think succeeded, though it's hard to tell with the entire UI in Chinese. I've flashed the U-Boot following the instructions at https://github.com/Joshua-Riek/ubuntu-rockchip/wiki/Orange-Pi-5-Plus. However, that doesn't seem to have fixed it.

Using a cheap 8 Core ARM minicomputer as a full node
Software support is a bit spotty, I could not get the official distributions from Orange Pi to run, but luckily there is a community build of ubuntu which runs perfectly.

what is the best Distro for orange pi 5B?
I would recommend Armbian or my Ubuntu 22.04 port, you should try both and see what you like. https://www.armbian.com/orangepi-5/ https://github.com/Joshua-Riek/ubuntu-rockchip/releases
- Integrity of the system apt packages on Huawei cloud

Best distro out of box experience OP5 Plus
I highly recommend https://github.com/Joshua-Riek/ubuntu-rockchip . I use it with 5 and it's great, stable and fast. There are desktop and server variants.
