After AI beat them, professional Go players got better and more creative
OGS is the closest thing I’ve found to lichess but it’s quite good! https://online-go.com/

Awfull experience with learning Go
That's nuts. I'll be honest online-go.com is my least favorite server to play on. Unfortunately it's one of the only ones that doesn't require software installation so it's easy to recommend to new players.

In Two Moves, AlphaGo and Lee Sedol Redefined the Future (2016)
In 2016, I thought I'd give up on playing Go, seeing that our tree searching overlords beat us in every which way. Funny thing is, I'm playing a game right now [1].

How is your experience playing Go Online
OGS is open source, anyone can contribute to their github repository and it's in need of developers - almost 200 open issues. It's likely easier to gain traction and more beneficial to the go community compared to starting from scratch.
-
I’m completely new to this-like 3 hours new. What do I do?
OGS probably has the largest pool of English-speaking beginners. https://online-go.com/ It's a web app, so it's very easy to get signed up and playing.

First win against an AI
Also, I'd suggest trying to switch to human players pretty soon (online-go.com is the place to be for that), AIs and weak AIs will play with a lot of strange and bad moves, and playing against too many of them might give you bad habits.

Problems with EidoGo?
My father-in-law has played on eidogo.com for many years, according to him. Recently, he's had an issue where the site is throwing a "Received Invalid Game Data" screen upon opening it and most of the tabs on it. I'm experiencing the same thing on my computer.

Suggestions for online demo board with no registration now that eidogo broken
When I want to make a quick go board position and link it here I used to use eidogo.com. It was nice and easy because I didn't need to register, viewers didn't need to register, I got a short link to share which when followed showed the position, and I could edit stones and add a few comments in a matter of seconds.
