So the video scheduling feature has rolled out recently. I have some questions. Why can't released scheduled videos be added to playlists after they have posted? A bug or?
You can follow the status from here https://github.com/OdyseeTeam/odysee-frontend/issues/2792
- Gee I wonder why nobody has tried to do this before
-
The most based of the based
technically it is open source since it's just a frontend for the LBRY video protocol
-
Having trouble skipping video
Opened issue https://github.com/OdyseeTeam/odysee-frontend/issues/2356 Sorry about that and thanks for reporting!

Odd-length string error on Odysee when attempting to publish playlist
Someone has reported an issue here (which might be the same thing) there's a fix here created 6 days ago that still needs approval. Last update was 3 days ago. I'm not sure what timeline to expect since the other PRs I looked at got merged on the same day. Hopefully it will be resolved soon since I also can't publish updates to my playlists.

is there anyway anyway to view previously liked videos on odysee similar to how you can on YouTube?
Don't think feature like that existing currently, but filed issue in github so maybe someday. https://github.com/OdyseeTeam/odysee-frontend/issues/2172

Odisee please add a feature to block huge PDFs from loading automatically
Filed it in here so devs will see it. https://github.com/OdyseeTeam/odysee-frontend/issues/1924
- Making content about linux is not allowed on youtube I guess...
-
"odysee.com refused to connect" error message when clicking "discuss" link at video embedded in reddit post
Sorry about that, seeing same here, opened an issue in https://github.com/OdyseeTeam/odysee-frontend/issues/1218 Thanks for finding.

Why does Odysee app have trackers?
Check the source code if you don't trust it. Pretty sure it's just for analytics(how many people are visiting the site) and error reporting.
NewPipeExtractor
- NewPipe v0.26.0 Released
-
A wrapper library over NewPipeExtractor
There's this thing called NewPipeExtractor, which scrapes a lot of details from YouTube like videos, comments, and channels. But using it is a bit of a hassle since it requires implementing some abstract class, and its documentation is hard to understand.
- Show HN: Firefox add-on to open YouTube videos in alternative front ends
-
What can go wrong if I write a program that scrapes websites and put it on Github?
For example there is https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor which allows downloading videos. there is https://github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts which activates Windows, I have tried and it works.
- YouTube legal team contacted Invidious

is there any open source app for vimeo like newpipe?
As for native support, it seems the issue for it exists but is pretty quiet so you may want to subscribe to it or lobby for some progress: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor/issues/690
-
Any NewPipe alternative that will let you filter search results by "posted today" or "in the last hour" etc?
See https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/pull/8837 and https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor/pull/904 for pull requests with this feature. The extractor PR is also needed for LibreTube (as LibreTube depends on Piped which depends on our extractor).
-
Is there a way around this ?
For an example the youtube/streaming front-end android client NewPipe and its associated "backend" NewPipeExtractor has a lot of machinary to emulate what javascript does in your browser when you ask it to play a video/stream from various websites (most notably youtube). It does take a lot of effort, which is why it often goes into periods of quiet development as the previous maintainers burn-out and new ones take over. But it isnt impossible, but modern websites do not let go of thier content easily. Also note that even this is only read-only, there isnt a mechanism to allow you to post.
