Is there any benefit to wayland?
Well, it can (Firefox is one example of dma-buf-based screencapturing in x11), but AFAIK obs still doesn't have such option out of the box (there is a plugin for that - https://github.com/w23/obs-kmsgrab, but I haven't tested it as there is not need for it on sway).

obs-nvfbc "Unable to get X driver status"
NVFBC won't work on PRIME, because with PRIME, your integrated GPU is driving the display. You want something like https://github.com/w23/obs-kmsgrab
