novideo_srgb VS HeliosDisplayManagement

There's novideo_srgb but it only works for Nvidia cards.

I haven't watched the video but just in case it isn't mentioned there I want to mention it here: You need to consider Windows' inability to properly color manage, you will see oversaturated colors in most applications unless you use a tool like: https://github.com/ledoge/novideo_srgb

And while you're at it, be sure to clamp your monitor to sRGB with this tool for NVIDIA cards, unless your monitor can properly display HDR.

- Odd default color settings; saturation is too high, and the default gamma curve is too high causing everything to be washed out (with no setting to adjust gamma specifically; I can't seem to find good settings myself). If you have an NVIDIA GPU, you can use novideo_srgb in conjunction with RTING's ICC profile and monitor settings to get (what I perceive to be) near perfect colors.

Unfortunately yes. The display comes "color calibrated", there's even a nice report included as seen here, however it's with a widen colour gamut of 125% sRGB. There's an sRGB mode, but it locks the brightness to 75, which is too much imo. Currently I'm using this program to clampen it, which I'd say works quite well, but I can't verify if it's 100% sRGB with this and I don't have an ICC profile to ensure so. The AMD catalyst driver has something similair to this integrated for folks that have an AMD GPU.

For wide-gamut monitors that have oversaturation, I highly recommend novideo_srgb for Nvidia, or using AMD's own SRGB clamp to clamp colors down to SRGB to fix oversaturation. It'll fix oversaturation for the entire screen, not just a specific application. You can also use your own color profile for more accurate colors with novideo_srgb.

get the srgb clamp tool , go to advanced-dithering : enable, spatialDynamic2x2, 8bit (or 10 if your monitor is 10bit native). dont need to do anything else, dont need to activate the clamp.

DisplayMagician is made for simracers, and is a fork of Helios Display Management that has some extra features. Once setup, you can have a shortcut on your desktop to easily switch between monitor layouts. On my setup, I hit an icon and it will disable my desktop monitors and switch over to my simrig monitor which sounds similar to your needs. The advantage of this software is it is automating the standard windows monitor enable/disable/positioning so it is very quick and more reliable than other methods. If you want to take it a step further you can script it, for example mine will flick to a certain layout when opening a specific program or game.

Hey gang, I currently own four monitors connected to my PC's GTX1070; an Acer X34 as my primary on my desk and 3 AOC C27G2s set up on my racing simulator. Ideally, I'd love to be able‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎­to run the triples at 5850x1080@165hz, with the X34 at 3440x1440@95hz. Currently, I can do this on Windows with Nvidia Surround and Helios Display Management, where the latter allows me to switch between two display profiles (one for the triples & one for the X34 on its own). I'd love to be able to purge Windows completely, preferably by switching to Manjaro KDE - which of course uses the Plasma DE. I'm not married to that though, and any Linux-solution that could achieve this setup would be gladly accepted :) TL;DR: Does anyone know a means of setting up a "Surround + Accessory" display profile in Linux? Or alternatively, setting up two separate profiles that can be switched between relatively easily? Any ideas/advice to get me pointed in the right direction here would be sincerely appreciated!

I use Helios Display Management for quick monitor arrangement changes.

Set up the triples using nvidia surround, win-P should allow you to quickly switch between triples and desk monitor. This is how I did it when I had triples & 1x desk, unfortunately I’m not sure how it would handle 2x desk. You might be worth looking at https://github.com/falahati/HeliosDisplayManagement
