Chess.com STOCKFISH ENGINE - Platinum vs Diamond Membership
There is a server that automatically compiles the latest stockfish binaries to save users the hassle https://abrok.eu/stockfish/ also if you aren’t a chessbase guy I really recommend nibbler as a gui https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler I switched to it two years ago and love it
-
I have a few questions to ask
for #1 lichess is really good, if you want to analyze locally I recommend nibbler as a gui https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler which can be used with stockfish or any other uci engine

Need help picking / understanding a chess engine, and interface
Some recommended programs (for desktop) are Nibbler, LucasChess, CuteChess and Arena. In all of those you will use your own hardware.

Recommendations for Chess GUIs?
Nibbler: https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler/releases/latest
-
any free chess SW?
you can use lichess if you dont want to download anything, but I would recommend stockfish or leela and nibbler (https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler) for the GUI

Is there "any" human-like computer?
I use nibbler https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler, well using the largest net will be the strongest adversary if thats what you want. An elo somewhere around 2500~ so a smaller or older net may be a better sparring partner. Since there is such a range of nets in every point of training progression you can find one which is almost exactly equal to you.

intra-game engine win lose draw estimate?
Some GUIs like Nibbler support WDL and enable it by default. It's very easy to use.
-
How does one prep with an engine?
Use lichess. If you really want a gui and have a good computer you could consider using Nibbler ( https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler ) with leela (Lc0) or stockfish.

Is there an offline chess analysis program for windows?
id recommend nibbler https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler

Fastest Chess Engine
Nope you can download it. I’d even recommend using leela too. If your looking for a speed, I find she can understand a position better then stockfish can (assuming you have a decent gpu). Try downloading nibbler from here https://github.com/rooklift/nibbler/releases/tag/v2.1.6 and stockfish from here https://stockfishchess.org/download/ . If you need help setting it up or want to see what it looks like pm me

I'm trying to use chess.js for a project. The github that I'm reading says the functions are all now renamed, such as loadPgn instead of load_pgn but the latest cloudflare copy still has load_pgn and not loadPgn -- what am I doing wrong? (I'm a bit of a js n00b)
I'm looking at chess.js here : https://github.com/jhlywa/chess.js and it says the latest version is v0.13.4 and it says that laod_pgn is now named loadPgn (I know about load_pgn because I found an interesting example using it on stackoverflow, but that example is ~7 years old).

I created a web app that explains chess openings and their variations using ChatGPT
Thanks! I'm using react-chessboard for the board and chess.js for parsing the PGN and making the moves :)

What is this structure called in JS? I'm seeing it in some code I'm reading... looks like a set or special kind of array
Just in case anybody is interested I found this on github at this URL: https://github.com/jhlywa/chess.js/blob/master/chess.js

Reading through chess.js from github and wondering why the primary class is declared as a function instead of as a class -- is this older JS syntax for classes? ...or is there another reason?
Trying to improve my understanding of javascript and I'm reading through the chess.js code that is on github here (link)[https://github.com/jhlywa/chess.js/blob/master/chess.js] as this code seems to be a standard implementation of chess rules, which interests me.

Create a Chess game with React and Chessboardjsx ♟️
We'll use a package called chessboardjsx, which will give us an easy way to display the chess game. On top of that we will use the chess.js library to implement moves and how the game should be played.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing nibbler and chess.js you can also consider the following projects:
