NextDNS blocks websites on the device level (if you go to a banned website, it'll just say it doesn't exist), and has support for every major platform. Porn blocking is disabled by default tho, you need to enable it in the settings

If you can’t find time to getting Pi-hole going, check out NextDNS, which is only $1.99 a month and very configurable (if you want. It also has sensible defaults.)

On which platform are you trying to install the NextDNS CLI? Is it listed here: https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns/wiki ?
So it seems to be a bug, it has just been reported on GitHub: https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns/issues/615
Sorry, I’m not familiar with Raspbian so I can’t help you with that. Have you tried the manual approach as outlined here: https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns/wiki/Debian-Based-Distribution Otherwise visit the NextDNS community, search for your issue and if you can’t find it, open a new issue: https://help.nextdns.io/category/community Unfortunately the developers are not the most responsive ones, but I hope there are community members who can guide you, as the product is definitely worth it.

I think someone should add a "ratio" field via extension.
It'd be a useful addition to https://sponsor.ajay.app/ which is already modifying the youtube UI.
I have zero (related) academic background and no experience and I want to start off with Swift, and I have a specific "project" in mind, although I'm not sure how long that'll take me, and if it requires skills of a higher level, or not.

I'm not knowledgable in this field, thus far, but the way I understand this, the whole point of both NewPipe and FreeTube is that they tend to stay away from Google and YouTube, as much as they can; they let you watch YouTube videos without having your watching habits tracked, no ads, other simple features like enabling background playback, integration of SponsorBlock, and downloading directly to camera roll, in either formats, be it video or audio; they do most of the work locally, on device, by making use of and scraping from the original website without questionable permissions, or by utilizing the Invidous' API, alongside adding other useful features like having a local account, not bound by Google or YouTube's Terms of Services and Privacy Policies, and having the ability to store subscriptions, and other history, all of which is stored locally.
