Home server solution
r/selfhosted for sure is where you need but running a Yunohost server on an old PC and installing NextCloud on it is very easy.

Suggestion for new folks: install nextcloud with yunohost. yunohost helps a great deal with some installation headaches and has other apps that play nice with nextcloud
I used to manually install nextcloud on a dedicated server, but switched to using yunohost after realizing that it made it easy to integrate self hosted email. When you setup yunohost on a server with a dedicated domain, if you have a vps with a reputable ip address and host (which is a bit of a crapshot but I lucked out) yunohost makes it pretty straightforward to self host your email, and when you install nextcloud, its autocratically configured with that email. There are some other integrations too, its pretty neat.
