Did you know that if you take your webDAV URL and replace "files" with "photos" you can browse your albums as if they were folders?
Is it a different address, or will a folder just show up once there are actually people tagged? I was also wondering if tags would show up as a folder once I have some tags too...I'm searching the GitHub page and I cant find where this is documented.

Need a Google Photos Replacement
Consider deployment of XPenology to utilize Synology web UI and Moments app. https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/12338-photo-station-and-moments-dsm-62/ An alternative software setup is the Docker server running Photoprism or/and Nextcloud. https://hub.docker.com/r/photoprism/photoprism https://github.com/nextcloud/photos

photo features in Hub3?
I don't think the Nextcloud photos app is anywhere close yet to being on par with something like Google Photos. They only just implemented the ability to create albums in NC25 (https://github.com/nextcloud/photos/issues/84)

Nextcloud 25 New Photos App and Sharing Albums with Public Link
It is a bug. https://github.com/nextcloud/photos/issues/1313 Apparently, the fix will be in the next minor release of 25.0.0 stable, it was too late to make the stable ship date.

Researching what to use for purely local Linux home server backup (no cloud backups)
Pro: No need for a special index database. The chunks are placed in the file system. This explains it in greater detail. Seems to place great emphasis on reliability, which is important for me. Versioning is also supported.

Your privacy is optional
Having all your data in one place isn't wise though, so I am planning on storing encrypted backups on Dropbox and Backblaze B2 using Duplicity so that I am following the 3-2-1 backup rule.

Ask HN: How do you do backups for personal/home server?
I tried a bunch of different ways but ultimately settled on Duplicacy [0].
It runs inside a Docker container and backs up both my data as well as configurations like my docker compose file and smb.conf.
Off site storage was Backblaze B2, but I moved to Hetzner. Likely will move back just because B2 is cheaper and a bit faster for my region.
Another layer of backup I do is use Duplicacy to backup to a portable hard drive occasionally that I keep off site.
