There is also `secmodel_sandbox`, a proof of concept for a Lua-based application sandbox on NetBSD:

I really wish it was picked up more. NetBSD has a lot of innovative ideas and it is sad to see it go so forgotten and neglected.

Testing the Lua kernel interpreter in NetBSD (2021)
A past GSoC project of mine ported the entire Lua test suite to the NetBSD kernel space: https://github.com/gszr/luatests (it needs to be updated... it's been on my to-do list). See also https://github.com/gszr/luaio for some cool IO bindings for Lua in kernel.
