Is there a complete guide for setting up mu4e/mu/msmtp with multiple accounts that is up-to-date/works/and actually -responds- to email rather than just updating?? (30 hours in...)
Had you seen this floating around, for rendering HTML mail? It seems to do what you're looking for.

Email setup in Emacs with Mu4e on macOS
the latest version of my package [https://github.com/lordpretzel/mu4e-views](https://github.com/lordpretzel/mu4e-views) supports rules for filtering the HTML before showing it in xwidgets and also allows for custom rules that decide on a per email basis how to show emails (mu4e build-in text format, html with filtering, html without filtering, ...)

How might I benefit from using Emacs as my mail client?
https://github.com/org-mime/org-mime Write html mail. Not sure other email client can render the embedded code.

mu4e workflow
You mention Markdown files so this might not work as I write everything in org. I use org-mime to convert org files to HTML and send them with mu4e. It allows me to push any tree in any file and send it as an email. I can save drafts of emails or make templates with org-macros to fill in details later (e.g. Hi {{{NAME}}},). Properties such as :MAIL_TO: and :MAIL_SUBJECT: are passed to mu4e. You can attach files and embed images using normal org syntax.
What are some alternatives?
