  • What is currently the easiest and the most efficient way to make menus and GUI in GMS 2?

You can try uiZ: https://github.com/TtheCreator/uiZ From feedback that I've gotten, it does have somewhat of a learning curve. However what you get back from it is the most complete UI system. (parent-child system, windows, panels, frameset, grids, many widgets) Also it is very fast by only updating parts of the UI that require to be updated. It's well documented and has gotten tutorials to get you started!

(just kidding nog actually angry). I'm the person who made uiZ as a UI library. It has quite a big range of features and components and is modular so you can make your own elements. It's free for non-commercial use and I've made both text and video so you can try it if you want. If you don't want to try, I'm interested in knowing why. No hard feelings or anything. https://github.com/Tthecreator/uiZ
