Announcing: the Motoko Developer Experience Survey!
Honestly talking about "prettier" in 2022 is quite alarming. Specially when motoko already has an LSP that has the power to the exactly the same thing but would be compatible with all IDE. I'll never understand why it was initially created in OCaml. It was probably abandoned because of it. If anything a complete re-write in a more modern language would be more appropriate.

Announcing: the Motoko Developer Experience Survey!
As the new maintainer of the VS Code extension, I completely agree that we need to rewrite the LSP in a more portable language. I'm currently working on this (initially as a fallback for projects without dfx configuration), and this survey will directly inform what features we prioritize in this overhaul of the extension.
