the source code does not extract patterns into commands and has a lot of copy pasting. this may cause problems for you if you don't understand the template well. check out moderncv and see if you like any themes there. Awesome CV seems pretty popular, and by skimming thru the examples it looks abstract enough, but I've never used it myself so not sure how good it is.

Awesome CV

Thanks! It's actually a LaTeX template (https://github.com/posquit0/Awesome-CV). I thought the three red letters was kind of odd but if I remove it or change it to only the first letter etc it looks kind of weird so I decided to keep it for a splash of color. I was thinking about finding another template but all the other ones look too generic, and being simple can be good, but I think this strikes a nice balance between functionally simple and aesthetically pleasing.
