Security question about installing MinGW-w64
IMHO with niXman you can go through the entire integration code and even setup a workflow yourself to build the binaries. There are a lot of scripts to check in https://github.com/niXman/mingw-builds but still manageable. No idea how the SF binaries are built. It'd probably roll with niXman. For now I use the Linux cross-compiler.

Can't seem to make MSYS2 GCC work at all
i finally found a fix! turns out the download from microsoft was simply totally outdated. all I did was use this one from the MSYS2 site directly and just used every command in the ucrt terminal. hope this helps!

Error faced when Installing Haskell using GHcup
Yeah, make sure your curl.exe is functional, e.g. by trying to run curl.exe -L -O https://github.com/msys2/msys2-installer/releases/download/2022-03-19/msys2-x86_64-20220319.exe.

MinGW-w64, outdated binaries
https://github.com/msys2/msys2-installer/releases (grab the .sfx.exe is probably the easiest, since self extracting but no registry modification).
