I wrote this 11 years ago for my friends and myself who were going through a phase in our lives where we used to challenge each other with mathematical puzzles.
The use of this tool spread from my friends to their friends and colleagues, then schools and universities, and then to IRC channels. That's awesome OP! Thanks for sharing! I'm also a huge fan of the movies. The matrix rain effect was a little off for me. I really recommend take a look at https://github.com/Rezmason/matrix. This is the best public matrix rain effect. Was also recognized by the Matrix directors as a good one. So you can mimic the effect and get the glyphs in the repository.
