material-table VS react-native-paper

Material-Table is a library that I used to use a lot. It was awesome. Unfortunately, the maintainer does not seem to be active on GitHub anymore, and the project is no longer being actively maintained. It went a couple of years without getting any updates, and there are some glaring NPM audit security warnings that you will receive if you install this in your project.

I'm trying to integrate react material-table (https://github.com/mbrn/material-table) with my project.

I'm using Material Table and I need change the Action column name but this column is automatic generated because I'm using editable function from material table.

Ik like material table a lot. It's pretty easy to get started with and has great customization options.

The free offering is very lackluster, I currently roll my own editable table inspired by https://github.com/mbrn/material-table. The main reason was the inability to add frontend validation, but now it has a lot of functions that I need, each custom for my needs.

In most cases they are wrappers around pure RN components (as I have been burnt by styling lib in the past - exactly NativeBase and its performance issues) and in the end, created components look like very light-weight version of RN paper components*:* https://github.com/callstack/react-native-paper/blob/main/src/components/Typography/Text.tsx.

I'd say a good start would be to check the demos for NativeBase and Paper to compare the look/feel and see if they have all the components you need.

React Native Paper

CSS-based UI libs don't make sense on mobile; your new options include NativeBase, React Native Elements and others). Some web-based UI libs do have RN siblings though - such as React Native Material and React Native Paper (for Material-UI), and tailwind-rn (for Tailwind). This just means new decisions to make, some learning, and new paradigms for how to use the new libs.

I'll suggest going with native base and react native paper . As these are only 2 libraries up there which are efficient and give some good results.
