I don't think there are any plans to right now (the virtual keyboard doesn't simulate a real keyboard, it uses protocols that are more like other mobile platforms for things like text prediction), best to check with the maliit keyboard project: https://github.com/maliit/keyboard

For the virtual keyboard, you will need to install and configure maliit (https://github.com/maliit/keyboard). For the stylus pen bugs, can you open a bug report in libinput?

i3 Linux -> macOS
What I've done is configure yabai and skhd in a way that somewhat mimics my i3 setup (dotfiles in case it helps) with the help of Karabiner-Elements since Apple wouldn't recognize my keyboard layout properly (or at all...).
