Does magma work with normal forge client?
Will it work if I host a magma server and try to connect with normal forge? And if so how do I know the correct forge version for the client?

Server Admins: How do you approach hosting and optimizing large modpacks?
Edit: Server is running Magma for plugin flexibility.

Modpack Server hosting with plugins
If you want to run Bukkit plugins with Forge, there's a few options. Mhoist, Magma and Arclight all achieve the same goal of running Bukkit plugins with Forge. Mhoist and Magma have both existed longer than Arclight, however Arclight uses mixins, which can improve compatibility.

how to use plugins?
use magma if you want to play mods and have plugins

Paper, Fabric, Magma, or Other?
Looking in to MagmaFoundation but it out of date. May be a viable option if I instead run client and server 1.18.

Need help switching to Mods from Plugins. What are the best alternatives for my server?
Instead of fully switching to MOD server, you could try using Magma, Sponge, or Mohist, if you have any further questions, feel free to reply to this message or DM me.

Forge server ”anti-cheat”
You can consider switching to CatServer. It's an open source, Chinese 1.12.2 Forge + Spigot server. It's a lot more stable than SpongeForge when it comes to mods, and it vastly outperforms it. There's more Spigot plugins than Sponge plugins, and a lot of popular Sponge plugins are available on Spigot.
What are some alternatives?
Mohist - Minecraft Forge Hybrid server implementing the Spigot/Bukkit API, formerly known as Thermos/Cauldron/MCPC+
Purpur - Purpur is a drop-in replacement for Paper servers designed for configurability, and new fun and exciting gameplay features.
Magma-1.15.x - Minecraft Forge Hybrid server implementing the Spigot/Bukkit API (Cauldron for 1.15)
Paper - The most widely used, high performance Minecraft server that aims to fix gameplay and mechanics inconsistencies
magma - Platform for building access networks and modular network services
minecraft-optimization - Minecraft server optimization guide
Arclight - A Bukkit(1.19/1.20) server implementation on Forge using Mixin. ⚡ ⚡⚡⚡⚡
LuckPerms - A permissions plugin for Minecraft servers.
Project-Zomboid-EtherHack - This is a cheat written in Java for Project Zomboid. It is aimed at providing the game with additional functionality that allows users to get some benefits. Please use responsibly and understand the consequences that may arise as a result of improper use. The performance of the cheat was tested on the latest version of the game 41.78.16
