I have built a few kernels a long while ago and fiddled with building Cadmium Linux and managed to create an arch port. Granted this was on the back of other work https://github.com/Maccraft123/Cadmium/pull/53 .
- Is it possible to run linux on lenovo 300e 1st gen?
- Is it a good idea to run a different OS like Garuda or Ubuntu on a 2-in-1 or any chromebook?

Chromebooks will get 10 years of automatic updates
I literally did some web dev work on my Samsung Chromebook Series 5 550 (released 2012) last week. It's running linux[1] at this point (since it's EOL), and is a little slow, but it's still perfectly functional for running vscode and a local webserver. (As others have pointed out, browsing the reset of the bloated web is a pain, though)

Asus c302ca firmware failed to load - no sound
[On Github](https://github.com/GalliumOS/galliumos-distro/issues/379) it is suggested to use [script](https://github.com/eupnea-linux/audio-scripts) which downloads the native Chrome OS and extract from there missing binaries. Why those are not opon sourced?

I apologise in advance; I have no idea what is causing this issue with your Chromebook. I had hoped I could be of assistance, but I am unable to. I hope that whatever issue you were having with your Chromebook has been resolved. If you want to install Linux on your Chromebook, try GalliumOS

Install RW Legacy Boot and load up a full Linux distro and just use your laptop like a Linux laptop. https://mrchromebox.tech/#home and https://galliumos.org/...getting way more janky and complicated now...
