Yeah, no. USB is terrible at resisting electrical interference and has a world of poor cables with a connector half-life of about 10 years. TCP/IP over STP is cheap, ubiquitous and not going away.
Routable instrument control > non-routable instrument control.

Comparing Hobby PCB Vendors
(1) Find someone you can pester with questions. (2) Understand the basic workflow. (3) Start by copying and modifying existing designs. (4) Build solutions using functional modules, and version these. (5) Bench test everything. (6) Be aware of startup and edge conditions when designing. (7) Take notes on all design changes or prospective changes, hypotheses and findings. This process will greatly accelerate your learning. Open source Diablo 1 engine – DevilutionX 1.5.0 released
Ace of Spades is one. I usually play with the OpenSpades client[1], but there is also Betterspades[2], and probably many other clients I don't know of yet. There are usually about 10-50 players online on the public servers listed on BuildAndShoot[3], variable depending on the time of day and mostly from Latin America it seems.
One can host the game with piqueserver[4]. I'm not sure if one can still host with the original Ace of Spades server, but the game was 'shut down' in 2019 so maybe not.
