How can I install my code as an app in Linux

How to distribute a program that uses packages downloaded from Luarocks?
I developed a very crude rock that allows you to install rocks inside your project, so you can distribute them as one. It's called wagon and you can find it here. It is inspired in moonbox, which does something similar.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing luapak and wagon you can also consider the following projects:
luafun - Lua Fun is a high-performance functional programming library for Lua designed with LuaJIT's trace compiler in mind.
luarocks - LuaRocks is the package manager for the Lua programming language.
functional - Functional programming utilities implemented in pure Lua.
luarocks-build-xmake - A luarocks build module based on xmake
