How can I install my code as an app in Linux
Linux treats all the executables in /usr/bin folder as commands (precisely it is standart path for shell to find executables). To install something in linux means to create an executable in this folder. There are several ways to create a standalone executable. For example this. Check this stackoverflow question

Does anyone use LDoc (or similar) when writing lua in nvim? If so, how?
It might do that, but I've never heard if it. I use LDoc as a successor of LuaDoc. If you don't mind the self-plug, I use it pretty extensively in my functional library.
What are some alternatives?
