Papercut, Windows Print Server & MacOS computers not printing
CUPS (the print system used by macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS, among others) has marked printer drivers as deprecated since macOS 10.15 Catalina (see for example https://www.cups.org/blog/2018-06-06-demystifying-cups-development.html#printer-drivers-and-why-apple-is-deprecating-them and https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-sharing/issues/4 ). Future versions will require all printers added to be using IPP (e.g. AirPrint or IPP Everywhere) or a "printer application" that presents a non-IPP printer as IPP to the clients. This uses common formats like PDF and JPEG and does not need a manufacturer driver on the machines.
