Free software in my smartphone
The easiest option is to get a phone that can run a de-googled Android distribution. The most secure choice is a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS. However, if you don't want to give Google your money, there are more options for LineageOS. In either case, you'll get a bare-bones initial set of apps with no Google spyware. You can install FLOSS apps from F-Droid.

LineageOS that just works
You need to fix SafetyNet. There are many ways to do it. I use ih8sn (non-root solution) on Mi 11 LE. Banking apps that I use work correctly.
