New Garlic OS Release 1.2.9 - Rolled back the mGBA core to commit e5532cf to fix a audio stutter regression.
15. March 2023 (Part 2):Rolled back the mGBA core to commit e5532cf to fix a audio stutter regression (this breaks OnionOS cross save state support as they run a different commit of mGBA as well as all current mGBA save states but it had to be done to fix the audio issues people have been experiencing... as such, please backup your saves and use the GBA's normal save system to migrate your games over to this new core)Set the GarlicOS version number to 1.2.9

mGBA Android core - crashing RetroArch
Also happens to me on my Shield TV running android 9 I believe. I ended up ditching mGBA altogether because it was so annoying. Here's the Github open issue for it https://github.com/libretro/mgba/issues/199

Audio Filter to remove high frequency sounds?
In addition to u/ofernandofilo's excellent and correct suggestion, there is a lowpass DSP filter I made that tames high-pitched sounds without muffling the desirable sounds too much: https://github.com/libretro/libretro-common/blob/master/audio/dsp_filters/ChipTune-Lowpass.dsp

Retroarch Removes Official Ps3 Sdk References And
TA start moderating, banning and removing said "illegal code" from RA and the cores (i've yet to understand which part of the removed code was actually illegal, they are only calls to headers and functions if said sdk is in use, i always thought it was perfectly legal to build that port as long as you own the sdk), because he is tired of all those continuous dramas (sure, he is the child here...).
What are some alternatives?
