If you have some time you could use librespeed-cli instead of the current docker image which contains bloated js stuff you don't use and Ookla's speedtest which is closed source (and given how their website is shit, I wouldn't use their products).

Need help with golang
I'm not sure if is the same, but you could do several things. However fortunately seems there is already a implementation in Golang, https://github.com/librespeed/speedtest-go most probable you could import it and use in your golang app.
