  • Expat (XML parser) is understaffed and needs funding
    1 project | news.ycombinator.com | 3 Apr 2024
I would not have found the call for funding help until they pointed out here:

    https://github.com/libexpat/libexpat/blob/R_2_6_2/expat/Chan...

I don't understand why there isn't a donate button on the README / website to support development of this and instead it's hidden somewhere.

Maintainers it is perfectly OK to ask the public to donate or ask for sponsorships.

If xz taught any anything we don't want to be in that situation again.

A belated happy patch day to everyone, This is a small maintenance and security update. You will notice that LibreSSL no longer works with FreeRADIUS software due to hiding library internals that are used by the software. Your current install will continue to work, but we would recommend switching to OpenSSL to receive FreeRADIUS updates as they become available. Also, the infamous log_error() message is being phased out in the development version to end the questions of "Why is this log message an error?" and so with log_msg() each log line receives a more appropriate log level between error, warning and notice. Here are the full patch notes: o system: add statistics tree view containing vmstat memory characteristics o system: explicitly reopen main log file in case another log file was used and closed o system: tweak log_msg() to prepare log level adjustments migration away from log_error() o system: enforce config reload to fetch group membership in authentication tester o system: separate interface type icon from name column in interface widget o system: change system log default to "Notice" o system: UX tweaks on activity page o system: revised backend daemon startup delay o system: drop empty plugins_run() result o interfaces: migrate main clearing of interface data to ifctl o interfaces: fix display of special HTML characters in packet capture o interfaces: retain existing PPP settings on saving interface settings o interfaces: delete the correct lock of PPP device o interfaces: fix variable use in interface_proxyarp_configure() o firewall: wrap user rule registration in new function filter_core_rules_user() o firewall: simplify rule lookup by using filter_core_rules_user() o firewall: allow external dynamic address in NPT o firewall: remove extended VIP expansion from NAT rules o firewall: fix live view hostname lookup may result in HTTP 431 error o ipsec: remove side effect host route removal from Phase 1 page o unbound: do not stop on potential errors in start script o plugins: os-freeradius is no longer available for LibreSSL to allow updates of FreeRADIUS software o plugins: os-nginx 1.31[1] o plugins: os-wireguard now skips invalid peers for dashboard widget (contributed by jkellerer) o ports: expat 2.5.0[2] o ports: krb5 1.20.1[3] o ports: nss 3.85[4] o ports: phalcon 5.1.1[5] o ports: sudo 1.9.12p1[6] Stay safe, Your OPNsense team -- [1] https://github.com/opnsense/plugins/blob/stable/22.7/www/nginx/pkg-descr [2] https://github.com/libexpat/libexpat/blob/R_2_5_0/expat/Changes [3] https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/krb5-1.20/ [4] https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/security/nss/releases/nss_3_85.html [5] https://github.com/phalcon/cphalcon/releases/tag/v5.1.1 [6] https://www.sudo.ws/stable.html#1.9.12p1

  • Need help integrating libi2pd/i2pd_client with C++ P2P application
    1 project | /r/i2p | 5 Jul 2023
Sup y'all. So I am looking for a developer with experience using the i2pd libraries. I have a P2P project that I 'm currently working on and would like to integrate i2p into the software so that users would be able to route their network traffic through I2P, hiding sensitive information like their IP addresses and whatnot. I believe this will also solve the NAT traversal issue that we are struggling with at the moment. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  • Looking for C or C++ devs for Monero marketplace project
    1 project | /r/Monero | 1 Jul 2023
Hello all, I am a developer working on the testshop Monero P2P marketplace project and we are looking for a C or C++ dev with experience working with NAT traversal protocols such as UPnP, NAT-PMP, and STUN/TURN (ICE). Peer discovery has already been implemented so this is the last thing we need implemented in order to bootstrap the neroshop network and finally go live. After that, we will move forward with the GUI development phase.

    1 project | /r/Jobs4Bitcoins | 13 Jan 2023
Hey, so I need to create a p2p network for my decentralized marketplace app, but I want to improve the server-client code and rework it using either libuv or libzmq (or both). The link to my project is here. All the details you need to know concerning the project can be found in the readme. The issues page also contains paid bounties for completing certain tasks.
  • Looking for ADHD Programmers with experience in C/C++ to help with a hobby project
    1 project | /r/ADHD_Programmers | 15 Dec 2022
Hello my fellow ADHD Programmers. I am looking for C/C++ developers who would like to help me develop a cryptocurrency-related ecommerce project that I am currently working on. Of course, there are paid bounties too. I came here because I believe ADHD Programmers are amongst the most extremely talented programmers (and I'm not just making that up).
  • NEETs who can code?
    1 project | /r/NEET | 15 Dec 2022
I'm an ex-NEET who self-taught himself how to code in C++ at the age of 15 only because I wanted to make video games. I'm currently working on a decentralized ecommerce app that uses Monero, a private cryptocurrency for sales and purchases within the app. If anyone is interested in helping out with my project, feel free to DM me! There are paid bounties posted on the GitHub issues page too :D
  • Introducing neroshop, a distributed P2P marketplace for Monero users
    1 project | /r/darknetmarketonions | 11 Dec 2022
Hey folks! Are you tired of the DNM takedowns by the FBI? Then come support us with the development of neroshop, a distributed P2P marketplace for Monero users that caters not only to darknet market users but also to those who want to take part in a parallel economy free from censorship and government intervention. Plus, it will be very user-friendly for the normies 😉.
  • Logo Hackathon
    1 project | /r/Monero | 17 Nov 2022
Greetings, my fellow Monerians. I am here to announce that I will be hosting a logo-making contest. This logo will be for neroshop, a user-friendly, Amazon-styled distributed P2P marketplace that caters not only to darknet market users, but also those who believe in a privacy-preserving and uncensorable free market. The project is currently in development and not yet ready for production use. We are even far from the alpha and beta stages. I am looking for a logo design suited for a project such as this. Our current placeholder logo can be used as reference. Everyone is eligible to participate in this event so long as you own a monero address. You may submit a link to your artwork in the comments below.
