Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

A Brief Defense of XML
I think a middle ground has been reached, XSLT 3.0 allows you to transform your XML into JSON and back. The XSLT 3.0 (2017) processor is available to non-Java languages from Saxonica, for Python "pip install saxonpy" (Linux only)

Teleport DO Hackathon submission
So we moved ahead to create Airshare an open-source python CLI based file client limited to the local network. It was released in PIP as a module that has over 15K downloads and is now available for use @ homebrew.
