kos-language-server VS vscode-intelephense

As to language differences kRPC relies other programing languages which means you need to set up whatever stuff is required to actually those languages. A result of this is that things that are native features of kOS stuff like vector operations, PID controllers, and cooked steering are things you are going to have to implement your self. On the other hand beyond a language server that IIRC only supports vsCode and 2 other editors there are syntax highlighting files found in the side panel under the "Editor Tools" link that are old kOS doesn't have much editor support compared to other languages. And lastly the other big thing kOS is generally considered to lack is a way to resolve things after an error happens if a script errors it crashes fully with no way for you to catch and respond to the issue which means you need to check for things like divide by zero errors before places where they can happen if you want to avoid crashing. There are a few other oddities to how kerboScript works but those add just that slight flavor of jank that makes it feel like kOS is indeed the rocket guidance system that kerbals would have developed.

Unless emacs is able to use one of the already built syntax files found linked in the side panel on the right of this subbredit under "Editor Tools" or is able to use the language server built for VScode then I am not aware of any such tools.

I'm going to use intelephense to show the minimal configuration needed to setup a language server in Neovim.

This is the most important extension to install for PHP support. It provides a fast language server that adds code completion, go to definition, formatting, and more. You can also purchase a license at Intelephense, which I highly recommend. It adds some additional features like renaming symbols and other code actions.

You need to get the code, and use an IDE to help like vs code + PHP Intelephense (https://intelephense.com/)

I bought a license key to Intelephense https://intelephense.com/, and added the key as described in the documentation and several blog posts (at least I think I'm doing it right), however the paid features (e.g. rename symbol) don't work.

I'm quite happy with Emacs, coming from PhpStorm, using intelephense.com premium. I highly recommend.

The error itself is the VSCode extension Intelephense, that is usually very helpful when writing PHP in VSCode, telling you that there is an error with an Undefined type ... after you have followed the steps outlined here in detail to install the permissions package on your Laravel app.

Furthermore, depending on which integrated development environment (IDE) you use, your editor detects the strict_types and warns you inside the editor before running your code. For example, I use the Intelephense extension inside Visual Studio Code, which warns me about wrong parameters before I run the code, like so:

Helix should use Intelephense by default, so if you install that, it should work out of the box. You can find installation instructions here 🙂

Look at either Intelephense or Devsense as plugins and you'll get a close to IDE level experience.
