A newbie looking for advice
Not sure where I found this as a recommendation (consider me a newbie and yes I read the docs): https://gitlab.com/klutchell/unbound

3 weeks ago I knew nothing about docker or selfhosting. Now I have my small home server and thanks to r/selfhosted I was able to setup it all by myself! Any recommendations on what should I install next?
If you want your own local network domain, maybe your router lets you define it. If not, it should be something like home. To redirect worldenfoncer.home to your server, you need to add the record worldenfoncer.home->server's IP in your DNS server. If your router doesn't allow you, I recommend setting up https://github.com/pi-hole/docker-pi-hole/, one of the best home DNS server. For more privacy, add an unbound container (I use https://gitlab.com/klutchell/unbound, I have no complaints).

What is the best privacy DNS? I see a lot of them claim to be privacy oriented but do not pass the leak test as suggested in privacy guides
I personally don't worry about this, and let https://gitlab.com/klutchell/unbound/ handle it for me. I check once every month or two if something changed, and that's about it. It has worked well for me so far.

All Fritz Box modems have been hijacked
Block 45.76.93.104 and 2001:19f0:6c00:1b0e:5400:4ff:fecd:7828 at the firewall if possible.
Ensure that DNS-over-HTTP (DoH) is enabled where it can be.
Set upstream DNS servers that block malware, such as 1.1.1.2 or NextDNS
Delete "fritz.box" from the domain search list in DNS settings.
Educate your parents to be cautious about directly typing domain names or searching from the OmniBox.

Ask HN: Which tools are the best for internet safety for kids?
I've tried hosted Pi-Hole and AdGuard Home. They are good as long as I'm around to fix stuffs. Then I tested something which can be global (home) and also for individual devices -- Control-D, NextDNS, and Adguard DNS. All of them works pretty well. If I really have to choose, then it would be in the order of NextDNS > Control-D > AdGuard DNS. Affiliated with none, and have decided to subscribe to all three to further test them for this year.

I first used Safari on Windows around 2006. Put me off forever.
You just need Firefox and the extensions that mean ads are never seen.
