The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Can you create a docker container that has all the configuration files and can be used to bootstrap other containers?
I think the best way to do this would be to create your base docker image. Then in any app after that you reference your base image and add what is needed for that container. Check out k8s-at-home for an idea here, should get you in a direction you want to go and probably a best practice for docker.

Shout out to LinuxServer.io, always coming in with the goods
Please check out the k8s at home container images repo. Our containers do not run as root or use s6-overlay. We also tag releases with semver.

Anyone interested in having more /r/sefhosted apps available for ARM?
I'm a maintainer of k8s-at-home/container-images. While I agree with you I wouldn't want something deployed in my cluster that I cannot audit, you can put together (using github workflows) a very transparent and easy to understand build process for containers. If people are just yeeting things from their desktop to dockerhub and telling other people to use it they are doing it wrong.

Here is my repo https://github.com/schklom/Mirror-workflows (I admit it's not the best name).

Using Docker for streamlined development in a GitHub repo?
I have a non-ideal way of doing something very similar, and it works out pretty well. I do it at https://github.com/schklom/Mirror-workflows.

Extending LinuxServer.io containers?
Make a new dockerfile for each that contains something like this FROM ffmpeg_repo/ffmpeg_image_name RUN command_to_install_apt_and_the_rest then build it and you're done.\ You can even build this image and publish it on DockerHub via GitHub Actions automatically, and your computer will just have to download your image.\ My repo does this (among other things) if you want inspiration https://github.com/schklom/Mirror-workflows
What are some alternatives?
When comparing container-images and Mirror-workflows you can also consider the following projects:
docker-plex
periodic-build-with-github-actions - Repository for periodicaly build docker images mainly for ARM
charts - ⚠️ Deprecated : Helm charts for applications you run at home
kubernetes-cobol - A Code Pattern to teach how to run a COBOL program on Kubernetes
apisix-docker - the docker for Apache APISIX
k3s - Lightweight Kubernetes
