Improved autocompletion in JupyterLab with the LSP
The JupyterLab-lsp extension (https://github.com/krassowski/jupyterlab-lsp) is a work in progress effort to bring IDE features to JupyterLab (including the classic notebook interface, JupyterLab-classic, https://github.com/jtpio/jupyterlab-classic). Which features would you like to see prioritized?

JupyterLab 3.0
Then you might be interested in a new project called JupyterLab Classic, an alternative JupyterLab distribution with the Classic Notebook look and feel: https://github.com/jtpio/jupyterlab-classic
Once the vim and black extensions adopt the new extension distribution system, they should also be compatible with JupyterLab Classic.

Why is autosave off by default whenever I launch a Jupyter notebook server?
Sorry I cannot help with classic Jupyter Notebook but in JupyterLab you can configure the autosave interval in the Advanced Settings Editor in Document Manager section - no extensions need. Is about time to migrate; if you like the old interface please check out RetroLab https://github.com/jupyterlab/retrolab (and the built-in simple mode)
