Interesting question about invoking from WIN+R - I'm not sure that's possible since it's just invoking a search. Maybe if you did some fancy shell association tricks.... As BlackV suggests, I normally just use a PS shell to do this. You can also use explorer.exe $path of course. If you use use (shameless plug...) jumps you can just use x p.
