Strange issue with LSP and nvim-compe
Not sure if you fix the prob, sorry for late reply, was very busy. I couldn't reproduce your prob at my config. You could take reference from this https://github.com/jose-elias-alvarez/dotfiles where I learned a lot from his config. FYI, he's author to nvim-lsp-ts-util which I think you should have it set up as complement.

Neovim integration
I'd suggest to use the nightly version of neovim and use treesitter which could provide a better highlightings and handle the lang="ts" better. Anyway, here's my dotfiles if you need them. I use neovim builtin LSP, you might wanna use COC if you want to get it setup easier.

How to change colorscheme in Lua without any plugins?
You can't do that for now. I just use vim.cmd("hi Stuff guifg=colour") and made a wrapper to make it easier for now, this is fine for me.
