Rob Pike: “Dotfiles” being hidden is a UNIXv2 mistake (2012)
info on XDG: [the XDG spec](https://standards.freedesktop.org/basedir-spec/basedir-spec-...)
tools that respect XDG, for fellow JS CLI developers:
- https://github.com/davidtheclark/cosmiconfig Find and load configuration from a package.json property, rc file, or CommonJS module. [Check `searchPaths` to implement XDG spec compliance.](https://github.com/davidtheclark/cosmiconfig/issues/152)
- Sindre's libraries use [`env-paths`](https://github.com/sindresorhus/env-paths#pathsconfig) to get paths compliant with this.
- https://github.com/sindresorhus/conf simple config storing (maybe try [conf-cli](https://github.com/natzcam/conf-cli) to manipulate if needed) the successor to [configstore](https://github.com/sindresorhus/conf#how-is-this-different-f...)
- https://github.com/jonschlinkert/data-store conf like datastore but in the shclinkerverse

Can the cache-write-hit ratio characteristics be different than cache-read-hit ratio characteristics if it was LRU or approximation of LRU or LFU or another cache eviction policy?
Just single file of 350 lines https://github.com/tugrul512bit/LruJS/blob/main/lrucache.js
- Any benchmarker here with the fastest NVME drive to help me gather some benchmarking data for this file-caching example? My system is a bit old so the hdd can create/read only 2000 files in 300 milliseconds in case of cache-misses.
- How many get/Set operations per second can your computer do on a local redis ınstance? My old computer can only do 20k per second. Any benchmarkers here With Javascript/NodeJs?

[AskJS] Is Javascript the best language to write asynchronous caching algorithms in least lines of code?
If codeblock is unreadable in this post, here is Github link: https://github.com/tugrul512bit/LruJS
- What kind of unit test do I need for my LRU cache approximation imolementation?
- I made a clock cache (LRU approximation) that has async O(1) cache miss and O(1) cache hit.
What are some alternatives?
