IP2Location — Freemium IP geolocation service. LITE database is available for free download. Import the database in the server and perform a local query to determine the city, coordinates, and ISP information.

Azure published their IP geolocation geofeed to IP geolocation providers such as IP2Location. It should be highly accurate.

You can visit IP2Location and check if you are behind an ISP and its actual IP address. You should be fine if your IP address is clean for residential purpose.

If you visit https://www.ip2location.com, does it detect your ISP IP address as from data center?

If you know anyone who is currently onboard, ask them to visit https://www.ip2location.com and send you a screenshot of what it reported. That is the IP geolocation information you want to know.

The common approach is using IP geolocation to identify estimated country of origin.

Do you have clean IP address? You can visit https://www.ip2location.com and see the parameters of your IP address. Is it detected as VPN or with abuses history?

Yes, you can find example of IP geolocation in https://www.ip2location.com and use it to block Utah visitors or anyone behind VPN.

You can check the IP address on testing websites like IP2location, DB-IP, IPinfo, etc. It should be noted that occasionally these websites display different locations for the same IP address. Typically, this is due to the fact that the IP address itself is disputed, which causes various analyses by IP libraries. You will need to contact the proxy provider in this case to obtain a different, higher-quality proxy.

Unfortunely the best well known, Excelsior JET, is no longer in business, most likely due to GraalVM and OpenJ9 being available as free beer, while PTC, Aicas Codename One are safe in their domains.

There is also RoboVM (https://github.com/MobiVM/robovm) as free beer, however it actually started as a commercial product, and the acquisition from Xamarin kind of stagnated it (naturally).

At Codename One, we were using App Engine when our daily billing suddenly skyrocketed from a few dollars to hundreds. The potential cost was so high it threatened to bankrupt us within a month. Despite our best efforts, including educated guesses and fixing everything we could, we were never able to pinpoint the specific bug. Instead, we had to solve the problem through brute force.

We use ParparVM which we wrote. It compiles a subset of Java 8 (sort of) to native by translating the bytecode to C and passing that through XCode. The reason we took this path and not the path of "direct to native", is that it allows for future compatibility.
