i use karabiner to do it on macos; a quick web search proposes interception-k2k which seems capable of doing it on linux, though quite not so easy as with karabiner.
  • Anne Pro 2 not Working with interception-tools

I am a programmer and use modal text editors (Vim/ Doom Emacs/ VS Code with Vim-plugin). This means, that the Escape- and Ctrl-keys are very important. I found a way to bind the Capslock-key to both (Escape when pressed alone, Ctrl when used in a key-combo). Until now, I have used `interception-tools` and their tool `caps2esc`. However, it didn't work with the Anne Pro 2 whatsoever! I opened issues on the GitHub-page for the specific tool I use and on the GitLab-page of the parenting `interception-tools`, but none of the people that answered could help me and found this behavior to be rather strange. All keyboards, that they encountered before worked with their approach.

For Linux you can use the libevdev library that wraps evdev in order to avoid direct ioctl calls for things like grabbing. We have a decently put together library already for Haskell https://hackage.haskell.org/package/evdev
