I found a utility that significantly speeds up the calculation of free disk space for slow machines with large fixed disks.
I like to collect the old programming books also - I have a chaotic permanently unfinished git page - C++ template meta-programming cross compiled to 16bit - what fun! https://github.com/ifknot/Asteroids

I love building a startup in Rust. I wouldn't pick it again.
Another solution: use std::span (or some alternative implementations if the codebase doesn't use C++20).

Passing a std:: array as a function parameter
For span only span-lite should be suffice https://github.com/martinmoene/span-lite
