hugo-theme-cactus VS utterances

FYI, it's a Hugo site based on the Kaktus theme made by me. It is a fork of the Cactus theme.

After years of analysis paralysis of choosing the right stack for my blog, I picked up Hugo, the Cactus theme[0], stripped lot of useless (for me) stuff, made some changes, published a new theme[1].

It has been going amazing for me![2]

I am using hugo with cactus-theme for this website.

I wish I could take credit, but it's actually a theme for Hugo called Cactus (https://github.com/monkeyWzr/Hugo-theme-cactus). I made some modifications to it however.

I wish I was that good at design :).

The tool I used to make the page is a static site generator called Hugo. The theme I used is called Cactus (https://github.com/monkeyWzr/hugo-theme-cactus). I made some minor modifications, but I really liked the style when I saw it.

I use the [cactus theme](https://github.com/monkeyWzr/hugo-theme-cactus) and tweak it a little.

Handling New Comments: There are excellent lightweight comment utilities available for managing comments on your eleventy blog. I personally use Utterances, but Giscus is also a great alternative.

We can use utteranc.es, a lightweight comment widget built on GitHub Issues to integrate authed comments in our blog.

Typically, a comment requires server side code and a lot of messy management. It’s a pain. These comments rely on a tool called utterances. Utterances uses GitHub’s issue tracker which was designed to track bugs, as part of that it includes extensive comment and discussion capabilities. I've installed utterances on my GitHub repo. I've configured it and given it the appropriate permissions. At the end of setup, it provided me with an HTML script and the following instructions:

Giscus drew significant inspiration from utterances, which utilize an issue-based comment system instead of discussions. I experimented with utterances initially, but I found it less convenient due to its reliance on an issue tracker for conversational purposes.
