hotkeys-js VS StadiaIcons

A JavaScript library, hotkeys-js and on GitHub provides the following methods

Ninja Keys uses Lit while command-pal uses Svelte. I don't have any experience with either, so.... Both of them can bind any command on the palette to a hotkey thanks to hotkeys.js. Both are MIT licensed. Command-pal is larger in size, but it also bundles all the libraries it needs. It looks like Ninja Keys loads libraries/modules on demand from CDNs on the internet. Being able to use the library without internet access is a nice feature.

On a webpage, you can employ hotkeys.

I faced the same issue. I tried out hotkeys and react-hotkeys-hook, but they didn't fit my needs. I ended up creating a component and placed it high up in the component tree, say HotkeyEvents (to avoid events being attached more than once), that handles all the shortcuts. I used the is-hotkey as a helper for detecting them.

The system is gully open-source so you can easily play around with the code and customize it (like setting up your own icons catalog for example) if you feel up to the task =); I've made sure the documentation is good enough that you shouldn't be totally lost if you know a bit about web development and node.js.

Or maybe you want to have a shortcut to a cloud gaming service installed so you can launch it easily? In that case I'd suggest installing Stadia as a PWA (go the https://stadia.com connect and then in your browser's menu—usually represented as 3 dots—you'll get an "Install Stadia" option... Or even simpler: individual game shortcuts are available at https://stadiaicons.web.app (full disclosure, I made the site, and will update it with missing titles when I get back from vacation).

But yes, it is quite nice to launch games. I actually used that same tech to set up https://stadiaicons.web.app to be able to launch individual games directly ;) (also available directly with Stadia Enhanced and Stadia+).

I have built https://stadiaicons.web.app (which is built into Stadia Enhanced, and Stadia+, though I think it's not working in the latter because v2.x isn't maintained while Mafrans sets up a full rework in the upcoming v3.x).
