When is C better than C++?
For example, I wrote a 2048 game clone (for the console) in C, and it even have iterators. I don't think that using C++ would have made the code cleaner.

Found a minimal non-fatal error, the FILENAME_MAX does not include the NUL byte, so you need to add a +1.
