One of the handiest things I’ve designed. For determining hole sizes in prints for screws or bolts of any size, pass through or threading in.
One option is to eliminate the STL step entirely. One experimenter claimed that they could slice an object in openscad using the CSG model 100 times faster than generating a normal mesh. Technically, it still generates a mesh but does it layer by layer. https://github.com/moehriegitt/hob3l

WifiModem or Serial Line IP setup. I use the SLIP setup on Amigas - but I have also used it on Linux for fun... its not dialup, but it is the real internet.
