Are you against Userscripts to "fix" this? https://github.com/MostlyEmre/hn-anti-paywall I have this setup on my iPhone and iPad, and it works fine to see paywalls and get links to archive so I can view them.
Ask HN: Why is there HN “No Paywall Bot” to add non-paywall links?

Somebody put me on to this, last time we were having a grumble about paywalls:

It doesn't get rid of them. But marks them, so you don't waste time clicking. And also provides a bypass link, if one exists.

I do, but I'm not willing to share it yet. It is one of those projects I'd like to take up on my own some day when I'm "retired".
