I have a WFH job but live in a rural area where the internet service is frequently unreliable. I'd like to monitor and log outage incidents (e.g. time of incident, duration) so that I can provide that data to my local service provider and get some real assistance in solving the problem. I have been using a small container app called SpeedTest Tracker which helps, but it's fairly heavyweight for what I want to accomplish. I'd like to (1) get longer historical data (e.g. ~90 days reporting), (2) get more granular reporting intervals (e.g. every 5-15min), and (3) more lightweight in the test payload (e.g. simple ping as opposed to large data transfer).

I would also add Speedtest-Tracker so you can make sure your getting speeds for which you pay for, It keeps historical data so you can go back a bit, I have my testing every 30 minutes. The default is once an hour.

Essentially I'm looking for something similar to this Speedtest Tracker, but where I can specify the iperf3 server(s) to test against.

i am having issue with when i am using my rpi4 (where pihole is installed) as my DNS server, it shows only my ISP's DNS on the clients side when i checked it with websites like https://www.top10vpn.com/tools/what-is-my-dns-server/. Where in my pihole settings, i set it to be using DNS's google, in the query log i can see the status shows that is answered by google#53 . but when i change my client's DNS server directly to google DNS, it shows both my ISP's DNS and Google DNS on the DNS checker website. i followed the link here to install pihole https://github.com/geerlingguy/internet-pi , which i believe is installing pihole and grafana inside a docker. Above also attached some screenshots from my pihole GUI.

hi there i forgot to tell u that i might be installing the pihole inside a docker, i followed the steps here https://github.com/geerlingguy/internet-pi . when i use "dig" command on my client terminal it shows the DNS ip address "127.0.0.1" is this what might be affecting my DNS config?
