Is it possible to put elements on a Pygame window that aren't scaled if the SCALED display option is picked?
Yup. It doesn't say so on the Pyscroll README but it does. my game uses it throughout and it's Pygame 2 and I've never encountered any problems.

Started a repository demonstrating super simple concepts with Heaps
I'm planning on moving to something else after I finish my current game in Pygame and Heaps is looking like a good contender at the moment. To be honest it was a toss up between Godot, Monogame and Heaps. Monogame was my first choice but it's not super easy to setup and the whole .NET ecosystem is quite confusing. Godot is great but I can't get onboard with the whole UI as programming thing. So now I'm at Heaps and actually enjoying it. The haxe language is great as well. Mostly of what I'd want in a language.

What's your experience with r/gamedevclassifieds?
I hired an artist off of it for my game that's a major WIP. So far so good, good communication and good work coming from it too. It's more about the person you find than the subreddit you're looking in. The guy I went with had a good portfolio and track record.

How to implement enemy pathfinding in a Diablo-like game?
I'm also part way through a biggish game (link) and to be honest, next time I don't think I'll be using Pygame. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on the subject.

A Guide on Command Line MonoGame
I'm moving over to monogame once I'm finished with my current game and this was one of the things that was really putting me off. I'm usually used to Vim and a terminal so the idea of resigning myself to Rider or MonoIde stung me a bit.

autoscaling in pygame2
In my case I'm designing for a base resolution of (512, 288) which is a 16:9 aspect ratio and works well with a 32x32 tilesize.

Game States in MonoGame! - Tutorial 7 | Part 1 - State Machine & Game Loop
Only asking because I've been working on a game in Pygame for the past few months and am thinking of moving over to Monogame for future projects.

- An action puzzler I'm working on. Fully open source with Linux support from the get-go
- For those of who you have controller support in your games; How are you abstracting away the implementation details between that and a keyboard?
