If you haven't already, try to add compression. There are npm modules for it. If you're using create-react-app, it could be as simple as installing a package and adding a simple script to your package.json. I've made a package like this called compress-create-react-app. Usage is very simple but the downside is that you can't configure it in any way even if you want to.
