Crux vs. Kiss vs. Venom?
With Kiss, musl is used instead of glibc. That means you could have some troubles with some software. I have some troubles with a printer driver for example. I need to use an opensource version, but the driver is worse than the proprietary one. It works. I sometimes need libreoffice, but it's not packaged for kiss linux. To package it, it would be necessary to package a lot of dependencies. So it has not been done until now. If you really need glibc in Kiss, you can install a version with glibc in a chroot. There is a version with glibc instead musl. You could even install a version with glibc instead of musl. I think you can install some softwares with flatpak, for example libreoffice, but I have never done it. Someone else must confirm if it works.

If I don't update for a while, would I have some repository related issues?
Be ready to not be able to run proprietary sofware (Widevine, Nvidia, Games) due to KISS using musl. Unless you know how to use gkiss, prepare to not run an ide and learn vim.

My two cents about Void Musl
Although, there's nothing stopping you from using glibc with KISS Linux if you'd like -- I believe an example is GKISS if you'd like to take a further look.

Is there hope for Linux on smartphones
Arch Linux can be installed on Android with Termux
I run scipy and numpy on my phone with it. A bit painful but I wrote a few thousand lines of ML code with vim on my cell phone in the last two months.

Note taking
The absolute easiest way to do it is to just use something like termux-archlinux, and then you can just install Neovim with the package manager of your choice. However as I noted above, I find that a chroot-ed (to provide a FHS-compliant filesystem) option is extremely slow. It might be worth a try though; I have an old Samsung S8 that has seen better days so perhaps newer stuff would perform better.
